Actor Patrick Swayze has died of pancreatic cancer
This morning we heard that US actor Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer on Monday night. We are very sorry to hear the sad news, and send our condolences to his family.
Pancreatic cancer has a very poor survival rate, and in many cases the disease isn’t detected until it has spread, making treatment difficult. As part of our five year strategy, Cancer Research UK will be funding more research into diagnosing and treating pancreatic cancer, to help save more lives in the future. But, as Henry recently wrote, the task ahead of us is challenging.
You can find out more about one of our pancreatic research projects, watch videos of the researchers and support our work on our MyProjects site.
If you are concerned about pancreatic cancer, there is more information on our CancerHelp UK site, or contact our information nurses on freephone 0808 800 4040 or by email.
